Update the system
Add Playonlinux PPA and install latest playonlinux
Add xorg-edgers PPA and update the intel video driver
Install the image decompression library libtxc_dxtn, otherwise the map is black.
Set the graphics memory size in BIOS to 512Mb (overkill maybe)
Installing with Playonlinux requires an account which can sudo and cdrom
Wait hours as it installs from the net
Run echo 0|sudo tee /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope before starting teh gameh
Conclusion: B-day geek pride :) & not for Carpentra's grandma :(
